In order to keep registration costs affordable and meet our block room requirements, we ask that everyone stays at The Ace Hotel.

• No deposit required. Just a credit card to secure your room.
• Booking link: The Cookout Photography Conference Reservations. The link takes you to the reservations website for the block. Guests will see the available rooms in the block, at the special block rates. Guests can alter the check-in and check-out dates at the top to anytime between Sunday October 6th 2019 and Wednesday October 9th 2019.

Alternatively, guests can input the group code directly from The Ace Hotel central reservations website – Go to https://www.acehotel.com/reservations/neworleans Select check in date and checkout dates: anytime between Sunday October 6th 2019 and Wednesday October 9th 2019. Scroll down to Corporate, Promotional, and Group Discount Codes and select Group Code. Enter Promo Code: 1910COOKOUT and click Check Availability.

Finally, guests can call David, our sales manager, at 504.930.3077 and provide the name of the block to book. This is the best booking method in case any guests would like nights that are outside of the contracted block or would like double beds. As a reminder, guests will be able to book until the cutoff date of September 6th, 2019.

Common Questions:

  • Do we have to stay the the host hotel? Simple answer: yes. Detailed explanation: In order to keep registration costs low- we’ve worked with the hotel and promised we’d fill our room block. Can we have roommates to save a bit of money? Absolutely! Just make sure everyone’s name is on the hotel registration.

  • What are you going to do if I don’t at the host hotel? Although staying somewhere cheaper may save you a few bucks, it doesn’t benefit our entire group. We’re a community. Let’s stick together. I honestly, can’t control adults.

  • What if I cancel or can no longer attend? Are you going to refund my payment or transfer it 2020? Nope. All payments are non-refundable.

  • That sucks, can I transfer it to someone else or sell my spot? Sure. That’s your responsibility. Just make sure we have the name of the new registration before September 1, 2019. After September 1, 2019, transfers will not be allowed. It’s a headache. Email hello@tomayiacolvineducation.com with the name of the person you’ve sold your ticket to.

  • It looks like you all party a lot. Will I be required to party and be sociable? I mean it is a “Cookout”.

  • What if I can’t make my payments on time? Truthfully, I prefer not to play “bill collector.” Email hello@tomayiacolvineducation.com if you’re experiencing a financial hardship.

  • I would like to volunteer to assist. Where can I sign up? Here’s the link to the volunteer form. All volunteers must be registered attendees of The Cookout.

  • I can’t find double beds on the hotel booking site- What should I do? Call David, our sales manager, at 504-930-3077.

  • Will there be raisins in the potato salad? No.

  • I’m vegan. Will there be meals for me? Absolutely, I take great pride in making sure that everyone has something yummy to eat. If you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or pescatarian I’ll have meal information set up closer to the event.

  • I would like to be considered a speaker for 2019- how can I apply? The speaker team for 2019 is pretty much set. To apply in case space opens up, please apply here.

  • I can’t afford registration. Are there scholarships available or down payment assistance? Absolutely. Please email community@tomayiacolvineducation.com
